Amy Jo Barraj

Amy Jo Barraj, age 58, born in Bangor, Maine and resident of Leesburg, VA died on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Johns Hopkins Medical Center. She is survived by her three children, Alana, Marina and Andrew Barraj; father, Ronald Striar; siblings, Barry Sokol and Wendy Striar, ex-husband, Riad Barraj; family pet, Oliver; many members of her extended American and Lebanese families and countless loving friends. Amy will always be remembered as a devoted mother, daughter, sister, cherished friend and partner, co-worker and mentor. Her spirit will live on in countless ways, but especially in every time we see spring flowers bloom, walk on the beaches of Maine, buy a funny card, watch "The Sound of Music", and eat lobsters in Christmas Day.

Private events celebrating her life will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made be made in Amy's memory to Friends of Acadia (www.friendsofacadia.thankyou4caring.org/donate)
