Andre F. Galaviz, age 76, of McLean, VA graduated on October 21, 2012 at his home. He was born on July 2, 1936 in Mexico City, Mexico to the late Fernando Aguirre Campelle and Sara Diez de Bonilla Galaviz.
Andre was an Office Administrator of THE CENTECH GROUP, Inc., Falls Church, VA, a high-quality service provider to the U.S. federal government.
Indeed, we lost a faithful and truly caring son, brother, uncle, great uncle, and dear friend. Andre always impressed those around him with his remarkable commitment, organization and management ability. He had incredible commitment to the team, which he displayed by coming to work each and every single day, no matter if healthy or sick, no matter if rain or shine. He was trustworthy, helpful, compassionate, kind, and shared his great sense of humor with anyone, who was fortunate enough to know him. He was always dedicated to support his team at work and his extended family at home.
As dedicated as Andre was to his job, he also taught us how important it is to cherish the things that mean the most to us, each and every day. He loved to compose and play music, and express his great imagination through very meaningful drawings and paintings. Most importantly, he shared those gifts with anyone, who cared to look or listen. He had a strong belief that art was the ultimate expression of the human spirit.
Andre was specially dedicated to his mother Sara who was a lively and active soul till Sara went home to the Lord when she was 95 years old and most dedicated to his brother Fernando who Andre always protected and always took great care of Fernando.
We will miss Andre so very much for everything that he was and stood for. No matter how difficult or small a task, he was always respectful, supportive, polite, and most of all committed. He was honest to a fault and did what he thought was the right thing to do. When he saw someone do wrong, he spoke up and when he saw someone do right, he remained quiet and offered a helping hand. His passing leaves a hole that can never be filled.
He shared his life with super dedication and protection to all those around him. His business management effectiveness, his unique talent as a composer and his special contributions through his very expressive religious paintings always made us appreciate the importance of being true to oneself.
Andre was the treasured brother of Fernando Galaviz of McLean, VA, loving uncle of David, Linda, Adam, Matthew, Karla, Daniel and Jonathan, loving friend of Gaby, Larry, Carlos, Hector, Luis and his greater group of friends, affectionately known as his "La Flota".
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 24th from 6-8pm at St. Luke Catholic Church, 7001 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA 22101 . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 25th at 10:30am at St. Charles Borromeo, 3304 Washington Blvd., Arlington, VA 22201. Interment will immediately follow at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, Arlington, VA. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The Arc of the United States (For People With Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities - http://www.thearc.org/).

Fernando and Family, Denise and I were saddened to hear that God has prematurely called Andres to his home; but Im sure he had a specific need that only Andres could fill. During my many visits to corporate, I always made sure to stop and sit with Andres, even if for just a few minutes. His gentle manner, the twinkle in his eye when he discussed family and team members, his total honesty and his politeness to a fault would always lift up my sprit. Fernando I am sad that Andre has graduated. He was always very kind to me. I recall meeting Andre when visiting CENTECH for the first time and mistakenly thought he was Fernando.
