Anthony Joseph Yantiss
August 24, 2006 ~ July 14, 2023
Anthony Joseph Yantiss, 16, of Vienna, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on July 14, 2023. Anthony, or “Big A” as we affectionately called him, was born on August 24, 2006, to Lisa and Craig Yantiss. Anthony’s sweet smile and laughter brought joy to our lives. Anthony deeply loved his four siblings and his devoted aide, Maria, with his whole heart. He was a proud Kilmer Center Tiger where he thrived under the caring, specialized instruction for kids with severe disabilities. “Big A” loved watching and cheering on his siblings at their soccer, hockey, and lacrosse games. He also enjoyed Rocking the Red with the Washington Capitals, reading with his siblings, listening to music, making crafts, superheroes, and watching birds at the feeder out his window. Words cannot describe the impact that Anthony had on those of us who had the privilege of being a part of his life. Anthony is survived by his parents Lisa and Craig, older siblings Cole, Dominic, and Ceci, and younger brother Theo. He is also survived by his loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Anthony was a beautiful soul put on this earth with the most wonderful family. I am so lucky and grateful that you opened your hearts and home and allowed me to love and care for Anthony. I know he was so loved while he was on earth and he will be continue to be loved and remembered
There are many tender words that describe Anthony and how he so beautifully touched so many of us. Yet, I keep coming back to the words “God’s angel.” He was born an angel and will forever remain an angel- not only in our hearts but also in God’s reality. The many joys he brought to his family and so many others will forever remain with each of us. In the words of Isaiah, “God is holding Anthony in the palm of His hand.”
Dear Lisa, Craig and kids, I am so very sad to hear about Anthony’s passing. I will always remember holding that sweet baby boy when he was a newborn at Cardinal Hill swim club. This photo of him is precious and shows what a happy boy he was; he was a blessing to your family and I know he will be deeply missed. I am praying for you all during this most difficult time.
With love,
Anna
