ANTHONY MICHAEL CORSELLO

Of McLean, VA passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the age of 89.

Anthony was born in Brooklyn, NY, and was a first generation Italian American. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII as a navigator on B-24 bombers. He volunteered for the Air Corps at the age of 18, flew 35 missions over Europe and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

After the war, he earned a degree in economics at Brooklyn College on the GI Bill, while working nights printing seveal New York City newspapers.

He married Virginia Rutesky, moved to Long Island, NY where they raised eight children. He volunteered for over 20 years as Boy Scout leader. The owner of a wholesale lumber business, hard working and honest, he never lost his smart sense of humor and his love of aviation.

Loving husband of Virginia for 62 years and evoted father of Bruce (Marguerite) Corsello, Jane Corsello, Ginger (Martin) Webber, Joyce Corsello, Michael (Robyn) Corsello, Perry (Diane) Corsello, Joan (Patrick) Daly and Tony (Laurra) Corsello. He is also survived by his sister Josephine Wise and brother, William (Evelin) Corsello and 13 loving grandchildren.
