Athanasios D. "Tommy" Tzaferis

Athanasios D. "Tommy" Tzaferis, age 74, died Saturday February 4, 2017. Born in Karitsa, Greece, he was the son of the late Demetrios K. and Maria Katsoulis Tzaferis. Mr. Tzaferis was retired from Pete's #6 in Easley and was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Surviving are sons, Demetrios Tzaferis of Anderson, and John Tzaferis and wife, Teresa of Bargersville, IN; daughter, Mary Powell and husband Tim of Lebanon, IN; grandchildren, Demetrios Tzaferis of Lansing, NC, Layna and Luke Tzaferis of Bargersville, IN; brother Kostas Tzaferis and wife Olga, of Fairfax, VA; nieces Mary Papanastsiou and husband John of Centreville, VA, Effie Tzaferis of Fairfax, VA; Debbie Veltsistas and husband, Pete of Clifton, VA and nephew, Demertrios Tzaferis and wife Suzie, of Aldie, VA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 11, 2017 at 8:30a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Bethesda, MD. Interment at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 406 N. Academy Street, Greenville, SC 29601.
