Barbara Kay Lee 1938-2013

Mrs. Barbara Kay Lee, age 74 of Vienna passed away June 7, 2013 at home with her son and grandson by her side. Kay was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Jay and Katherine Blankenship Taylor, preceded in death by her husband Tom, sisters Jeanne Coolidge, Patricia Owen and niece Genie Richardson Barber. She was a long time member of Vienna Presbyterian Church. Kay and Tom met while attending Huntingdon college in Alabama and traveled during his military career to New York, Michigan, England, Virginia, Colorado, Nebraska and Hawaii. Kay spent time in Turkey and the middle east region with daughter Cynthia (Cindy), and in-laws Bob and Dorothy Lee while Tom was in training. Kay was the strong military wife who efficiently moved the family every two to three years and enjoyed the sights in every region of the country we resided. Employed in multiple fields including medical and business at each duty station she eventually owned and operated a print shop when they settled back into Virginia post military life. Kay retired after a successful yet short experience in the realty industry. Kay is survived by her brother Jay (Tina) Taylor of Alabama, children Cynthia of Hawaii and Robert (Sarah) of Virginia and six grandchildren. Kay will be laid to rest with Tom at Arlington National Cemetery on July 19, 2013 at 1pm.
