Bryant Winstanley Rogers, Sr.

Bryant grew up in Latin America during WWII and after, because his father was in the US Foreign Service. Due to his area knowledge and fluency with Spanish, he was hired by the CIA in 1966, a few years after graduating from Georgia Tech. He spent 30 years with the Intelligence Community, and worked in all five Directorates of the Agency. While most of his career took place in Virginia and D.C., he and his family were assigned overseas for a number of years in Central and South America, as well as South Korea.

He retired in 1996, but continued working after retirement until in 1999, when he and his wife, Barbara, bought a second home in Asheville, N.C. To remain close to their son and granddaughters, they maintained their primary residence in Leesburg, Virginia, dividing their time between Asheville and Leesburg. Bryant loved to fish and hike, and Asheville provided a perfect place for this kind of recreation. Having spent much of his life overseas, Bryant and Barbara spent much of their retired years traveling both within and outside of the Country.

While Bryant’s career was spent as an Intelligence Officer, his avocation and true love was devoted to pursuing his Spiritual Path. Early on he studied the occult mysteries with a psychic teacher in Arlington Virginia. This led him to Astrology which he practiced for a number of years. For much of his adult life he was also a practitioner of the Ageless Wisdom and the mysteries behind life, death, the soul, reincarnation and karma. In an effort to document his spiritual path, in 2019 he published a book entitled “The Way of the Pilgrim”. This was followed in 2022 by his “Spiritual Awakening” or what is often referred to as “Enlightenment”.

He is survived by: his loving wife of 63 years Barbara Ann Rogers, sister Lynn Vance Moffitt, son Bryant W Rogers Jr, grand daughters Rachel Whitehurst, Lauren Rogers and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
