Carol Ann (Myers) Stanton passed away peacefully at her home on August 21, 2018 surrounded by her children.

She is survived by three children: daughter, Deborah Weaver (Michael+) of Waldorf, MD; son Daniel Stanton (Bonnie) of Bealeton, Virginia and daughter Cheryl Stanton of Centreville, Virginia; three grandchildren Lori Beth Beard, Robert Beard (Army SPC) and Kayleigh Stanton; brother Carl Myers (Jean) and several nieces and nephews.

Carol was born in Washington, DC daughter of Edith Catherine Wilcox and Minor Edward Myers. She grew up in Clifton, Virginia and graduated from Fairfax High School in 1961. Following high school she attended nursing school and graduated as an LPN. She worked as a nurse at Arlington Doctors Hospital for several years before quitting to raise her family. At the time of her retirement, she was working for CACI in the bookkeeping department.

Carol was a founding member of the Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic States of the Anglican Catholic Church and served in many capacities on the parish level such as Sr. Warden, treasurer, and altar guild chairman. She also attended Diocesan and Provincial (international) synods for many years until her health prohibited her participation.

Carol was a 56 year member of Hope Chapter (now Harmony Chapter) in the Order of Eastern Star, serving in many capacities including Worthy Matron and Assistant Lecturer. Carol received her 50 year pin in 2012.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 3-6 pm at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Avenue, Vienna, VA. An Eastern Star funeral will be held at 5:30 pm. A requiem Mass will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Church of the Ascension, 13941 Braddock Road, Centerville, VA. Interment will be held at Flint Hill Cemetery immediately following the Mass. A reception will be held following the graveside service at Harmony Chapter, Concord Masonic Lodge, 146 Church Street, NE, Vienna, VA.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Church of the Ascension, 13941 Braddock Road, Centreville, VA or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Knowing her for my40 some years in Hope Chapter was an Honor. Working with ,traveling, and just being with Carol and her family has always been Special. She is a special Gift from GOD.
