On Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Westminster at Lake Ridge, Lake Ridge, Va. Beloved wife of the late David W. Natella, daughter of the late June Byrd Wortley and the late William E. matti, sister of the late Sharon J. Matti, sister-in-law of Susan N. (David M.) Cushing, aunt of Molly E. Cushing and Nathan S. Cushing. Carol was born in Wayne County, IN., on September 6, 1947 and was a long time resident of Vienna, Va. She was a botanist for the Smithsonian Institution, a technical writer for the US Environmental Protection Agency, a research associate for Scientific Consulting Group, a consultant for the US Army Corps of Engineers and a free lance editor and writer. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 13th at 1:00 PM at Vienna Baptist Church, 541 Marshall Rd., SW, Vienna, Va. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the National Wildlife Federation, 11100 Wildlife Center Dr., Reston, Va 20190.
