Carol Marie Baker, age 62, of Washington, DC, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Sibley Memorial Hospital. Beloved daughter of Agnes "Betty" Baker and the late Donald Carroll Baker of McLean, Va., sister of Jonathan Baker.

I had the pleasure of working with Carol for many years. I will miss her spontaneous calls to check up on how the office and her old friends were doing. She was a very nice person and will be greatly missed.
I will miss Carol. We worked together for many years and stayed in touch after her retirement. She had a big heart and delightful sense of humor. I will miss our chats. I will think of her every election……she always had such enthusiasm and was always loyal to her candidate of choice. She always asked about my family and pets…and expressed heartfelt concern when I was not feeling well or when one of my pets was ill—she was a gentle caring soul. She talked about her mom and her brother and how they were feeling and what they were doing. My heart goes out to them. Carol was generous, kind, and good-natured. When I think of Carol….I always smile.
