Carole M. Rogers
September 8, 1936 ~ November 29, 2021
Carole Margaret Rogers, 85, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021, in Arlington, VA. The daughter of the late Allen W. Huber and Mildred V. Huber, Carole was born September 8, 1936, in Upper Darby, PA.
Carole was a 1958 graduate of Immaculata College in Philadelphia, PA, where she proudly played basketball for The Mighty Macs. Carole moved to Montgomery County, Maryland with her then husband Thomas Rogers in the late 1960s where she was a devoted wife and mother to their five children before launching her career in the hospitality business. Carole later served as the Executive Assistant to the president of National Resources, Inc. in Rockville, MD.
Carole enjoyed her retirement years traveling with her close companion, Asaph Hall, while residing in the Harbor Ridge community of Palm City, FL, and at their beach home in Fenwick Island, DE. Carole treasured her time at ‘the club” at Harbor Ridge, whether it be on the tennis courts or in the club playing trivia over cocktails.
As an avid reader, Carole enjoyed hours on the beach in Delaware while also hosting an array of friends and family at their home at Kings Grant.
Affectionately known as “Gooma” by her 5 children, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, Carole delighted in her sharing her time, her home(s) and large meals with her extended family.
A special thank you to the caregivers at Avalon House in McLean, VA where Carole lived the last few months of her life.
Surviving are five children, Thomas Curtis Rogers, Jr. (wife Sarah) of Mclean, VA, Jennifer Rogers Johnson (husband Jim) of Lighthouse Point, FL, Donna Rogers Todorovich (husband Bosko) of Ormond Beach, FL, Kenneth Joseph Rogers (wife Meneika) of McGaheysville, VA, and Theodore Allen Rogers (wife Jennifer) of Odessa, FL. Carole is also survived by her brother, Allen W. Huber, Jr. of Graham, NC.
In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by her brother Steven Huber, her partner Asaph Hall, and her previous husband Thomas Rogers.
The family looks forward to a Celebration of Life for Carole in the Summer of 2022.
