  1. Chris Hsu made a difference in the lives of those most fortunate to have known him. As a close colleague and friend for some 35 years, Chris was one of the most accomplished individuals I have known. His multi-linguistic ability, artistic talent, energy level, infectious personality and his cross cultural self-confidence were both admired and envied by most who knew him. The considerable professional contributions he made rarely have been matched over the decades. Chris was fiercely proud of his recorded 33 generations of family history and he was especially proud of his two children, Kai-Lin and Kai-Wei. Chris left his mark and he will be missed. My deepest condolences to his wife Miako, Kai-Lin and Kai-Wei.

  3. We will miss Chris. He was a always good sport by joining his wife’s luncheons with her lady friends at their house. He and his wife, Mia, hosted many lunches and dinners at their home for many friends. He was a very gracious host.

  4. We will always remember Chris’s sparkling eyes and merry wit, especially his stories of his boyhood adventures in Taiwan. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mia and her family. Though we moved far away we still feel close to you. We send our love.

  5. The Hsus were a second family to me growing up. Mr. Hsu was a welcoming, kind, witty, humble and talented man. He had a great sense of humor and was very committed to and proud of his family. My deepest condolences to the Hsu family. My prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

  6. We worked and served with Chris for a period of over 25-years and Chris was always the consummate professional. He performed his work duties with an attention to detail that was always spot-on. His willingness to travel wherever his skills were needed was inspirational and Chris could be counted on to successfully complete every assignment. He was a team player and he was a leader; he was always willing to provide counsel when asked without concern for political correctness. Simply put Chris spoke the truth and it was appreciated. We have lost a truly good man and a great colleague and friend, Chris will be missed. May God grant his family, Miako, Kai-Lin, and Kai-Wei peace during this difficult time.

  7. Mia, I am so sorry to learn of your husband’s death in the newspaper. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. It sounds like he was indeed a wonderful person, and I am sorry not to have met him. Rosanne

  8. Mark and Linda Berberian send our condolences to the Hsu family. Mark worked with Chris in the mid 1990s, and found him to be a great person, whose knowledge, diligence, and humor made work a pleasure.

  9. John and I are so sorry to learn of Chris’s passing. We worked together in the early ’90’s and have kept up with Mia and Chris through the Plachetta’s, who with Mia’s help, adopted the cutest Japanese baby, Nicole. And what a fun time Chris had at her wedding last year — he must have taken 5,000 photos. What a sweet, kind funny guy. We will remember him and miss him.

  10. We had many good times together with Chris and Mia. Whether it was traveling in Europe, or dining in good restaurants, or simply sitting around talking, it was always enjoyable. We honor Chris for his service to his country. We admired his photographic and artistic talents. But mostly we will remember Chris for the fine human being he was. We will always cherish our memories of Chris.

  11. How sad and surprised I was of learning Chris’s passing. He was a wonderful person. My sincerest condolences to you Mia, Kai-lin, Kai-Wei and the rest of the family.
