Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. When Danny was a little boy he had a nickname — Sunny. He had a particularly radiant smile! I will always remember him and that smile. I will also remember his bravery and his concern for those who were less fortunate than he.

  2. I will remember Danny as thoughtful, caring and always interested in learning things about the world around him. He was a great listener and a great conversationalist. I also admired the adventurer in him, not hesitating to travel to the places in the world he wanted to see or transplanting himself to another city for a different experience. He had a lot of courage. Rest in peace, Dan.

  3. I cherish memories of Danny as a child spending hours together with Mandy & Matthew. His wit was quick, his sense of humour unique. He loved to play games. Dan was a fine athlete and excellent student. He often studied at his desk with Arthur, the family cat, watching his every move! Dan, rest in peace knowing you were/are truly loved.

  4. Danny was a fine human being… I remember one time in school some girl was picking on me and Danny said to her “you better back off of my sister right now”. Danny was my hero, heck he still is.. I remember sitting in the living room and watching tv together and laughing at the same parts at the same time of whatever we may have been watching. I really regret not trying harder to stay in contact as we got older and went our separate ways in life. No matter what though I always cherished Danny as a brother and friend… We always had a lot of fun together growing up…He was like the big brother every girl dreams of having (though he was only a few months older then me)… Kind, honest, considerate, loving, funny, just all in all the perfect brother.. Danny I shall miss you terribly, but I know your in a better place and truely happy now… I love you big brother!

  5. May God & the Angels comfort those who were close to Daniel and loved him. Time will heal your pain….. Sincere condolences.

  6. May memories of your beloved Daniel shine in your hearts forever and bring you peace. Prayers go out to his friends and family.

  7. Dear Vavrina Family, I regret to hear of the loss of Mr. Daniel Vavrina. May you look to the ‘God of all comfort’ – Jehovah (2 Cor 1:3) at this difficult time. Additional comfort comes from God’s promise of a resurrection (John 5:28,29) and the removal of pain and death (Rev 21:3,4). May you continue to have the support of friends and family. Sincerely, Jameika

  8. My greatest and fondest memories of my times with Dan where when we were kids, especially spending time with Meme & Pop. Dan had a wonderful imagination. Together with Matt, we would develop plays, dress up in outrageous costumes and have our grandparents (and us) in stitches. We will miss you greatly – Love and prayers, Kyla, Todd & Ahslyn

  9. Dan Vavrina was a truly gifted person with exceptional intellectual curiosity and a gentle, compassionate and large heart. In Dan, we saw, heard, felt and witnessed a deep strength in convictions, a love of the humanities, a challenge for greater understanding and a call to help each other overcome and withstand our own weaknesses individually and together as a society. Dan challenged me personally to think more and reflect judiciously about the issues confronting our society. He made my overall college education and experience at George Mason University more meaningful and substantive. As a member of Alpha Phi Omega he upheld and lived out the fraternitys cardinal principles of leadership, friendship and service. He welcomed and embraced friendship indiscriminately, and at his very core shared with all of us a cheerfulness and optimism that defines us as a group and that will remain with each of us individually forever.

  11. I really miss Dan. It feels so unreal not to have him around to talk to or do things with anymore. I have put off adding to this website for so long (almost two years). My grief for Dan is like a dam that is threatening to burst open. I still do not feel ready to write anything more right now.
