Guestbook

  1. Dear Vickery family: As we learned from the loss of our wonderful brother Brad, each person in a family is irreplaceable. We share with you that feeling about Don.

  2. Dear Vickery Family, So sorry for your loss. Don has been our thoughts and prayers for a long time. (Members of VBC)

  3. Oh me, I am so sorry to hear about Don’s death. Since learning about his cancer, I have been earnestly praying for him. Don and I went back a long way to high school days, band and band camp days. Once, when visiting Virginia with my children, one became sick and Don saw him and gave me a copy of his health book which I still use today! I last saw him in Evergreen when several of us high school chums got together. I am so sorry your family had to go through this and that Don died so young. May the Lord have mercy upon his soul.

  4. Dear Vickery Family – I was so sorry to hear of Don’s death. My friendship with Don goes back to 1957-61 at Fairfax High School where we shared many great times together. My prayers and thoughts are with you. He was far too young! God Bless You All!

  5. I am so sorry to hear about Don’s passing. Though I did not know him that well, I remember he and his family fondly from my Vienna days. And, of course, Ray graduated with me from the old Fairfax High School in 1960. My thoughts go with all of you.

  6. We are so sad to read of Don’s death. We pray for all of you. Our friendship goes back when we were neighbors on Park Street. We have great memories and continue to support you at this time with our love. Nancy, Lewis and family

  12. Dearest Clarene and family, My prayers have been with you this entire time as Don bravely battled his fight with cancer. I am so sorry that the Lord called him home so young. He was a wonderful and caring father as well as a very wonderful doctor. Many people were touched by his time here on earth. In all the years that I knew him, from back when our boys were Parkwood students together until now, I always found him a gentle soul. God has a special place reserved for him. Diane Weiss

  16. I was very saddened to read about Don’s passing in the Post. I had heard that he was in declining health, but I was not aware of the seriousness. I valued Don as a friend and as a dedicated colleague for a number of years on the board of Partnership for Prevention. We will miss him greatly, I in particular.

  17. Dear Mrs. Vickery: Our condolences, love and prayers are with you, Meredith and the rest of the family at this time of your great loss and sorrow. 19. Dear Carol and family, I am so sad to learn that Don has died. I remember when you, Carol, met Don when we worked at Options and Choices and how happy you were. Please enjoy your wonderful memories. Love, Karyn

  20. Dear Mrs. Vickery – our deepest sympathy on the passing of your son. It is so unfair when a mother has to bury a child. You are such a loving person that your son must have known every day that he was loved. Sheila, Bill and Diana

  21. My husband and I were so saddened to hear about Don. I worked for Don for nine years – I still have mementos from our years working together and he was one of my favorite people. We have not been in touch for some time now and I regret that. I think of him often and I will never forget him. Our sons, Kevin, Michael and Jimmy, were very fond of “Dr. Vickery” and they too were saddened when they heard about his passing. Our deepest sympathy to all of you. Meredith and Drew, I also think about you frequently as well. May God bring strength to the entire family during this time. Fondly, Lanie and Ron King

  22. Throughout my teaching career, I was blessed to know many wonderful students, but the most special were those who graced my classroom early in my teaching experience at Fairfax High School. Don was one of those sparkling delights. Years have passed, but I remember him well — bright, happy, and charming.

  23. Dear Clarene, Meredith, and your entire family, I was so sad to hear of Don’s passing. Know that you are all in my prayers for healing. May God bless you.

  24. We are sorry to read of Mr. Vickery’s passing, and send our sympathy to his family. Eldon worked for his father, Ray Vickery, years ago at USDA. We still have a copy of Dr. Vickery’s book “LifePlan”.

  25. I worked at the Center for Corporate Health (later Optum) for 10 years, and though I didn’t work for Don at CCHI, I have been selling his books for 15+ years, and got to know him later. At first I was amazed that he answered emails himself, but came to learn that was just Don. When I started my own small business selling publications, he took the time to give me advice and insights into the world of publishing, for which I am grateful. He will be missed.
