Dora Haney Layton
September 27, 1911 ~ April 20, 2013
Born in September 1911, Dora died at home on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 101 years old. She was raised in Washington, Iowa and left in 1938 for Washington, DC where she joined her new husband and childhood sweetheart, the late Gilbert B. Layton. Beloved mother of Bonita, Patricia and Charles; grandmother of Kate Layton and step-grandmother of Tania Lee; Aunt to Don, Tom and Richard Haney. She and Gilbert traveled the world with their three children for 22 years until they retired to Vienna, Va in 1970. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars or the Wounded Warrior Project.
