Dore J. Berlin, 73, of Fairfax, VA passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday August 11, 2024. Private funeral services for family are being held graveside on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Mount Ararat Cemetery in Lindenhurst, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Feeding America, because no child should be hungry (https://www.feedingamerica.org/) or the Humane Society of Fairfax (https://hsfc.org/) to help the furry animals he loved 😊

Dore was born on February 4, 1951 in Brooklyn, NY, the oldest child of Norman and Roma. He graduated from CW Post and started his adult life as a high achieving salesperson in a variety of industries, first in New York, then DC and Houston, finally becoming a permanent resident of the Washington, DC area.

He was an avid Washington Redskins (now Commanders) and life-long NY Yankees fan. He could belt out sweet Caroline louder than any Red Sox fan you ever met. No road trip was too long to take (“17 hours? Sure, we can do that in day!”). He loved to “keep the beat” on his steering wheel drum as he drove up and down the east coast on various adventures with Nancy. Every morning, he pored over the entire Washington Post with at least two cups of coffee and was then ready to face any challenge of the day.

Dore is survived by his wife. Nancy, son Noah, mother Roma Eichler, siblings Debi Candiotti, Kim Berlin (Kathi), Stu Eichler (Brenda), Caren Shaffer (Lew), and so many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews that filled his life with endless joy.
