Just want you to know we are remembering Doris and thinking about all of you as you go through this difficult time. Some of our favorite memories of your Mom were her thoughtfulness, her pride and enjoyment in her lovely home, her wonderful smile, and her love of her family. She always beamed when she talked about her children and their families. When she spoke about Uncle Jim to us, it was usually a funny story and occasionally it involved a bit of eye rolling, which was funny too. She was always kind and happy, never a negative thing to say about anything or anyone. She made me (Joyce) feel like one of the family from the first time I met her and I have never forgotten that. Patrick loves to tell people about her remembering birthdays with cards and handkerchiefs, when most of us were struggling to remember our own spouse’s birthday. Let’s hope she is up there setting your Dad straight and getting things organized! All our love and prayers, Patrick, Joyce and family
Doris was one of our most favorite friends. Always a smile and that twinkle in her eye. PEPCO was never the same after she retired. She did so many kind things for other employees. We also enjoyed her friendship after retirement. Our “Fun Bunch” luncheons were very lively when she and Jim were there. We send our sympathy and respect for your family whom she loved so very much. Sincerely, Bill and Gloria Hutt
Doris was a special person who showed a newcomer the way when I started working in 1957 at the Service Bldg. I eventually took over her job when she transferred to the Main Bldg. I enjoyed working with her and your Dad and know she will be missed as much as your Dad.
I had the great privilege of growing up next to this family. She and Jim were some of the few adults that I called by their first names. When they had company over I could always hear her laugh from my bedroom. I’ve heard the echo of her laughter many times over the years. Thanks for the great memories Doris. Love, Christine
I knew Mr. & Mrs Waters through my brothers and through St. Mark’s church. They were friends of my parents. I have seen Tom over the years at his pet store in Front Royal, VA and always asked about his parents. Mrs. Waters was always smiling whenever I saw her. My prayers are with you all at this time. Patty
