Dorothy Marie Sparks Lockwood, 89, died on Monday, June 30, 2014. Born September 4, 1924 in Arlington, Va., she was the daughter of Willie Daniel and Mable Ruth Brumback Sparks. She was the widow of George Eugene Lockwood and a retired secretary for the National Security Administration.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, David Lockwood of Fairfax County, Va. and Dale (Mary Jo) Lockwood of Danville; two sisters, Hilda Jones of Manassas, Va. and Helen Reed of Unionville, Va., a granddaughter, Alisha Lockwood of St. Petersburg, Fla. and a great-granddaughter, Liberty Hood.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Bethel Washington Primitive Baptist Church. Rev. John Nichols will officiate. Burial will be at 2:00 PM at National Memorial Park in Falls Church. Pallbearers will be Bruce Reed, Terry Reed, John Boger, Mark Boger, Stuart Lockwood and Theodore Young.
