Edward Jordan Gotchef
Of Vienna VA, loving father, grandfather and husband passed away at home on November 26, 2015. Ed was born Sept 2, 1937 in Galesburg Illinois, the beloved only son of Jordan and Ruth Gotchef. He attended Principia Collegewhere he met his wife, Tam, and majored in Political Scienceand graduated in 1959. He received a master's degree from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. After attending Officer Candidate School and serving in the Air Force he joined the Foreign Service. He and Tam spent the majority of his 35-year career overseas with tours in Moscow, Budapest (twice), Bombay, Copenhagen, London and Warsaw. He was an avid golfer, skier and tennis player and also a music lover who was a lifelong French horn player. He and Tam were also ticket holders at the opera and symphony and sang for many years with the New Dominion Chorale. He was predeceased by his wife. He leaves behind his daughters Kimberly Brailey (Kip) of Vienna, VA and Deborah Gotchef (Tom Haak) of Seattle, WA and his grandchildren Andrew and Liam Brailey and Benjamin and Ellery Haak.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Church, Christ Scientist, McLean.
A memorial service will be held at Money and King on Friday, December 4 at 11 am. Interment with full honors at Arlington National Cemetery will take place at a later date.

Dear Kimberley and Deborah: Please accept our condolences upon the passing of your father. We knew both your parents through church, which they served faithfully. I had the additional privilege of knowing of them through the Bombay church, since I am a native of that city.
