Stephen McCarthy, age 83 of Vienna, VA died Monday, January 26, 2009 at Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, VA.
Mr.McCarthy was the son of the late Walter and Ruth Clark McCarthy. He is the beloved husband of Catherine Holohan McCarthy. Father of Eileen Grant, Kathleen Dache, Dan McCarthy, John McCarthy and Patrick McCarthy. Brother of Woody McCarthy, Helen Hopkins, Wilson McCarthy, and Bob McCarthy. Grandfather of 16 grandchildren, Natalie, Alexis, Skyler, Jordan, Nicky, Rosie, Tim, Patrick, Sean, Ryan, Peter, Kelly, Olivia, Josiah, Madeleine, Milan.

We were neighbors for forty nine years and continued as dear friends with Steve and Kay for another five years, knowing that no finer a man ever lived. Steve, when the time comes, I’ll join you and Bill at those “Heavenly” Wednesday Board Meetings.
The McCarthy family has my greatest sympathy. Having lost a father many years ago, I share the sadness one feels in loosing a parent. I know he will be missed.

We have been neighbors since 1956. We will miss Steve, but he will live on in our memories.
