The Tau Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order (Herndon, VA) shares in the grief of the Geiger family at the passing of our brother Franciscan, Ed. “Lord, those who die still live in Your presence; their lives change but do not end.”
Beth, and family, we’re sorry for your loss!
Ed was my roommate at the Naval Academy. I remembers calming demeanor and his rules at the breakfast table our Senior Year. There would be no talking and he would point to what he wanted served so he could be the first to finish eating so he could return to the room for a quick nap.. His stories and pictures of his love of a Morgan sports would drives us nuts. He knew the numbers of holes in the leather straps over the hood, and Bill and I did not care. He was a great friend and room mate who had a calming influence on his high strung roommate who was facing a medical dis-enrollment for potential MS and I will always be in his debt. But his calming demeanor disappeared as he and Beth yanked and pulled Katherine and I through the crowd after an Army Navy game at a full sprint. Toward the subway we went, up and down steps, pushing and shoving, and then clamoring through double doors on a subway so we could hold on to a leather strap. This was to be repeated at some transfer point in downtown Philly enroute to something called the Main Line. All this made no sense, because the subways came every 15 minutes. For someone who we couldn’t get to run at the Academy, he was a beast in downtown Philly. But, Ed was a great person and friend. My thoughts and prayers are with Beth and their family. I always remember how warm and welcoming Ed was when I stopped by, from my first visit as a high schooler, to my most recent visit some 30 years later. Lisa and I send our thoughts to the family. -Rob
To the Geiger Family- we are so saddened to hear about Ed’s ( known to me always as Mr. Geiger) passing. Whenever I saw him whether it was up at UMASS or at your home in VA, he was always so happy and pleasant! I don’t think I ever saw him without a smile on his face. And always had a great story to share! Our deepest condolences to you all during this very difficult time. May he Rest In Peace. With all our love – Müge & Family
Beth and Children, It was with true sadness to hear of Ed’s passing. My memories of Ed are of a kind, happy, and generous gentleman. So sweet and so quick to laugh. I will always remember him gunning his beloved Morgan up the hill in Breton Bay. I am so sorry.
Liz and family – Ed was always a pleasant and kind patient to work with. He always worked as hard as he could in PT and will be missed. KC Physical Therapist Assistant

We will never forget Ed’s efforts to keep the Morgan Motoring Club of D.C. a functioning, social entity for its membership, Long before Facebook and e-mail contacts, Ed would send out postcards announcing club activities. Driving events seemed to be his favorites, usually terminating at some Pub that boasted a British flavor. Ed was a spirited soul and good friend we’ll long remember. Beth & family — we are saddened to hear of Ed’s passing but take comfort in knowing he is now at peace and his struggle with illness is over. You made wonderful neighbors for 20 years on Myrtle Lane. We will keep you in our prayers. — Steve & Valerie
