Elizabeth Cassidy Kunzig, 88, died on Thursday June 17, 2010 at her residence in McLean, Va. Beloved wife of the late Louis Albert Kunzig, Jr., Col. USA (Ret)., mother of Thomas Joseph Kunzig (Fran), Jeanne Kunzig Anthony (Doug), Robert John Kunzig (Karen), and the late Louis Albert Kunzig, III (Simone). She is also survived by eight grandchildren, one step-grandson and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Society of Daughters of the US Army Scholarship, c/o Mary Peca Maroney, 11804 Grey Birch Place, Reston, Va 20191. Dear Family, What a pleasure to have known Bettye through Army Daughters! Her friendliness to a new member was much appreciated when Betty Walters first brought me to meetings. We visited often during Benny Havens, and frequently sat together at the same table for lunch, especially at the Mount Vernon Inn. And Jeanne’s wonderful shepherding of her mother made it easier for her to be an active part of things right up to the last. Jeanne — you’re a daughter any mother would be proud of, and you were a wonderful companion and friend to Bettye every step of the way. We’ll all look forward to seeing you back with us at the September DUSA luncheon, and we’ll be there with you in August at Fort Myer. Dearest love to you, and to all —
