Elizabeth Frances James

Elizabeth F. James, age 92, a long-time Falls Church resident, Elizabeth F. James (nee O'Flynn) passed away peacefully at Goodwin house Bailey's Crossroads on October 26, 2013. She was a graduate of Immaculata High School, Washington, DC and Chestnut Hill College in Chestnut Hill, PA (Class of 1942). Many friends knew her as "Betty James" and later in her life, she wished to be known as "Liz James". She is preceded in death by her parents, Brig. Gen Geoffrey J. O'Flynn and Elizabeth K. O'Flynn, a sister, Patricia M. Berry, and her husband, Robert E. James. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara James-Repetti and Deborah J. Newman, sons-in-law, Fred Repetti and Ken Newman, a grandson, Jeremy L. Newman, a niece, Danielle D. Berry and a nephew, Thomas M. James. She will be remembered as a kind and gentle mother, grandmother, and aunt who enjoyed life, loved to dance and had a flair for fashion. She worked for Lord& Taylor in Falls Church for over 25 years and was an active volunteer for Virginia Hospital Center Foundation for many years. She was a devout Catholic whose strong faith continued to sustain her during her life.
Our mother will be greatly missed by her family and her friends and will live on forever in our hearts and our memories.

Aunt Betty was a true lady, a dedicated mother, a true partner and wife, and a wonderful Aunt. I have wonderful memories of her and offer my thoughts and prayers to Barbara and Debby.
