Evelyn Rebecca Schaeffer, of Front Royal, VA died on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in Fairfax, VA.
Evelyn was born on February 29, 1928 in Petersburg, WV. She is the daughter of the late Jacob Van Thorne and Beulah Ethel (Yokum) Thorne both of West Virginia. Evelyn is close to her family beginning with 10 brothers and sister (Thelma, Odell, Nela, Chester, Virgil, Marvin, Gerald, Lois, Irene and Darline & their spouses) and an extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Many of whom she will join in the ever after.
Evelyn was married to the late Kenneth Milton Schaeffer of Centreville, VA for 68 years. Together they raised a daughter (Terry Marie-deceased), son (Michael Wayne) and Robert Lee (lost at birth). She is survived by Michael, Jill (his wife) and Lauren (their daughter).
She will be missed by everyone she knew and loved.
Services will be lead by Pastor Carroll Junkins. Evelyn will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with her husband, Kenneth, and son, Robert Lee.

We had a lot of good times with aunt Evelyn we will miss her very much. R.I.P aunt Evelyn we love you The Williams family.
Aunt Evelyn was my second mom. The mom that didn’t let me get away with nothing. She was my moms best friend and sister. Visiting we would go and who knows who we would be visiting on any given Sunday, just as long as Aunt Evelyn was home by 6:00 pm Sunday evening. I love you Aunt Evelyn and will miss you. Have a pia colada or 2.
