Felix Rosenthal

Felix Rosenthal, 96, of Oakton, Virginia, passed away on February 16, 2021, from complications during heart surgery. He was predeceased by his spouse Mildrid Nyhamar, his son Andrew, and his brother John. He is survived by his son Fred, daughter Linda, and granddaughters Mira and Elise Holford.
Born in Munich, Germany, in 1925, Felix fled to the United States with his family in 1936 and lived for many years in the Chicago neighborhood of Hyde Park. During WWII, Felix served as an engineer in the U.S. Navy, and then completed his education, culminating in a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology. He led research and development efforts in both private industry and government, retiring as Chief of the Underwater Acoustics Branch at the Naval Research Laboratory. Felix was the inventor of several issued patents.
An ardent advocate for peace, Felix corresponded widely, and donated much time and effort to organize and support the World Federalists Association.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Money & King Funeral Home in Vienna, Virginia. The interment will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Arlington National Cemetery
