On January 15, 2009 passed away at his home. Loving husband of Teresa Gaitan; devoted father of Fernando Jose (Susan), Alberto (Victoria), Helena Kenevan (Simon), Maria Mercedes Endres (Woody), Miguel (Patricia) and Ricardo (Heather). Brother of Ana Gaitan, Julia Schmidt and Eduardo Gaitan. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Andres, Cristina, Nicole, Veronica, Taplan, Max, Lucas, Alejandra, Liliana, and Nicolas.
Friends may call at St. Luke Catholic Church 7001 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA 22101 on Monday, January 19, 2009 from 10 until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Mail Stop J5-200, P.O. Box 19024, Seattle, WA 98109-1024.

Teresa and family, you have my deepest sympathy. Fernando is one of the most gracious people I have known.
