Florence Patricia Schardt (age 90), of Vienna, VA died on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Sunrise at Oakton, VA. Loving wife of 70 years to Lt. Col. Bruton B. Schardt, US Army (Ret.); devoted mother of JoAnn (William) Sterritt, Rev. William B. Schardt, and Susan Stewart. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Raymond (Crystal) Cosby, Susie (Chad) Foster, Christy (Brian) Kurutz, Amy (Ron) Lavery, Ryan (Angela) Sterritt, and Adam (Kimberly) Sterritt; great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Chase, Brianne, Trent, Gage, Libby, Catie, William, Samuel, Clementine, and Grey; sister-in-law, Delores Gargan. She was predeceased by Joseph and Mary Rose Gargan and siblings, James, Edmond and Joseph Gargan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Rd., Vienna, VA on Tuesday, September 8 at 1 p.m. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
