Francis "Bix" Doughty of Reston, Virginia died on Monday, December 23, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Mae Doughty; father of Roger Doughty (Gail), Peter Doughty (Margo McCreary), Jonathan Doughty (Eileen); grandfather of Elizabeth Doughty Kane, Christine Doughty Callen, Ellie Doughty, Stella Doughty and Theo Doughty. He is also survived by his great grandfather of Madeline Elizabeth Callen. Bix was a member of our Body and Soul class at Thoreau Place. He always made it special by adding his wonderful voice to our songs. Once he even demonstrated his talents by doing some classic Charleston steps! Such a delight! He will be greatly missed! Our loss is Heaven’s gain!
Our congregation, UCP, enjoyed having Bix sing in our choir. I admired his voice as well as his wonderful attitude towards life. He will be missed. Barbara Schell
