Frank Edward Dietz, Jr.

frank dietz, jr.
Frank Edward Dietz, 76, of Vienna, Virginia died peacefully September 24th near the home of his daughter in Baltimore, Maryland. Born to Frank Edward Dietz, Sr., and Sybil Adams Dietz in Memphis and raised in the South, he met the love of his life, Margaret Susan "Peggy" Beauclair, while attending Loyola University in Southern California. They were married in 1961 and moved to Omaha, Nebraska where he began his career serving his country in Air Force Intelligence. Frank and Peggy settled in Seal Beach, California where they welcomed four children; Mary Elizabeth (Harold), Christopher Joseph (Gina), Timothy John (Donna) and Patrick Michael. He then became a respected executive with Ford Aerospace, Planning Research Corporation and most recently, Booz Allen Hamilton. After relocating to Northern Virginia and subsequently losing the wife he adored suddenly in 1984, Frank heroically raised his young family with unconditional love while continuing to build his remarkable career.

A devout, lifelong Catholic, he was known to attend mass to start each day and was an active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel parish in Vienna, Virginia where he served as an usher, lector and Eucharistic minister for many years. Frank embraced his role as grandfather with characteristic passion, which brought him tremendous joy. In addition to his four children, he is survived by six beautiful grandchildren; Courtney Margaret Dietz, Alyssa Yvonne Dietz, John Christopher Dietz, Michael Andrew Rees, Brendan Timothy Dietz and Kathleen Beauclair Rees; as well as his sister Anne Hessler (Richard) of Columbia, Missouri; and sister-in-law Ramie Kriste (George), of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. Always drawn to the ocean and marine life, Frank was also a fervent Los Angeles Rams fan and was particularly heartened at the end of his life to hear that the team had returned to the city where it belonged.

Friends and family will be received at Money & King Funeral Home, 171 Maple Ave., Vienna, VA (703-938-7440) from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, September 30th.
