Frederic "Fritz" A. Graf, Jr.
May 8, 1930 ~ February 28, 2022
Graduated from the US Naval Academy in
1953. Went to Pensacola, FL for basic flight
training and to Corpus Christi, TX for advanced
jet training earning and receiving his Naval aviator’s
wings in 1955.
Fritz served in the Navy for 30 years.
He flew as a test pilot and flew reconnaisance flights
over Vietnam being awarded a meritorious service
medal, 2 air medals, combat action ribbon Navy unit
commendation,Vietnam service medal and Republic
of Vietnam campaign medal. In Seoul, Korea, he was
Director of World Wide Military Command and Control
System with UN Headquarters,US Forces & 8th Army.
His last tour of duty was in Washinton, DC , as Deputy
Director of WWMCC, namely “the war room” in the
Pentagon.
He is survived by Kay, his wife of 67 years, a son,
Christopher, a daughter, Ana Neri and a younger brother,
Karl.
Fritz was a grateful member of AA for forty years.
He will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery on July 6th following a service
at Ft. Myer chapel at 12:45pm. In lieu of flowers, please
send a donation to cancer research.

I don’t think Captain Graf ever truly understood the impact he had on me back in the ’80s, when he wrote a letter complimenting the father of my children and myself for raising them the way we had to that point. I drew on the strength of that compliment for years to come. As a result of our visit with Captain and Mrs. Graf that prompted his words, they have both occupied a special place in my heart.
