I am missing Fred’s vibrant presence already.
I worked with Fred at High Frontier, when he volunteered there. He was always very pleasant and helped in any way that he could. I’m sure he will be missed — he often bragged about his grandchildren and showed pictures of them.
My professional interactions with Fred at DOE, although limited, were exhilarating. I admired his principled postions on politically dominated issues. His professionalism, principles, ethics and commons sense sometimes caused the wrath of our upper political management. He asked penetrating good questions and took all facts that he could get access to into account. I enormously appreciated having Fred as a trusted colleague. My deepest sympathies go to Fred’s family. Bob Gottschall
Although Fred and Lora have not been at Langley Hill Friends Meeting for many years, I see them as clearly as ever and miss their presence still. His loss leaves a great emptiness.
It was with great sadness that I learn of Fred’s passing. I was fortunate to have worked with Fred on solar power satellite concepts during his Department of Energy work many years ago. His humor, creativity and personal conviction to making a difference in this world will be long remembered by myself and others that worked with him. Leonard David Golden, Colorado
