Gail Darlene Saylor
September 5, 1949 ~ June 8, 2023
Gail D. Saylor
Gail was born on September 5th, 1949, in Washington DC. She grew up in Arlington, VA, the younger daughter of Fred and Vivian Jarrell. Gail and her sisters Joan and Linda always stayed close and raised their families together.
Gail attended Washington and Lee High School in Arlington, VA. and then moved on to attend a Beauty Academy. She worked as a hairdresser in Falls Church and Arlington, VA for over 30 years. Gail was also a talented artist; over the years she painted beautiful ceramics for family and friends. She loved to travel, take cruises and go RVing with her family. Gail loved organizing family gatherings. Spending the Holidays with her family was very important to her. During her life, she had many pet dogs Buffy, Missy, Chelsea, Tinker, Maggie, and Rusty were always her babies.
Gail met the love of her life Gary Saylor in the summer of 1965 in Arlington VA, where they were neighbors. They got married on June 22nd, 1968. They had two wonderful sons, Luke and BJ. She was the most loving, and caring wife, mother, mother-in-law to Jennifer and Lili, and grandmother to Brianna, Lance and Alex.
Gail’s memory will be cherished by her surviving family, her husband, sons, daughters in Law, grandkids, and by several aunts, uncles, cousins, her sisters, and her niece Melanie, and nephews Marty and Leigh.
Her love and support for her family was unconditional and always a priority. Even when her health was a struggle, Gail made an effort to be present in her grandkid’s events and family gatherings. She was the epitome of stoicism, living by the phrases: “I’m fine”, “what can I do for you?”, “What do you need?”
Gail spent the last months of her life under the care of her loving husband Gary and surrounded by the love of her family. She passed away on June 8th, 2023.
Gail was a loving, and caring person, always ready to help and support her family in good and bad times. Her love was always felt, and it will always live in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to Gail’s Life Celebration at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA on Thursday, June 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Money and King Funeral Home on Friday, June 16 at 11:00am. Gary,
Our deepest sympathies to you and your family on the tremendous loss you’re facing. Gail was a wonderful person. We enjoyed the times at the Holiday Travel Park in Virginia Beach, listening to the Saylor Brothers Band.
The Wamplers,
Mike, Susan and Sayler.
In the radiant tapestry of life, Gail was a thread of pure love, weaving together tender kindness, vibrant humor, warm friendship, and compassionate selflessness. Her gentle and passionate spirit touched the hearts of countless treasured family members – her devoted husband, adoring sons and their wives, and her precious grandchildren. Though she is physically absent now, we find solace in knowing that her luminous presence will continue to embrace us and keep us safely enveloped in her eternal love.
Love always Dianne Saylor
My deepest sympathy to Gary, Luke and BJ and the rest of the family. Gail loved all her family even us at Suburban Pest Service. It was awhile ago but such fond memories. My family still think of Gail every Easter with one of her bunnies as a center piece at Easter Dinner.
All my love.
Rhonda Holsinger
So sorry for your loss. Sending thoughts and prayers for Gary and family.
