Gloria Carlo Deuel

March 9, 1925 ~ July 16, 2023
Gloria was born on March 9, 1925. She was raised in Buffalo, NY after her parents emigrated there from Italy at the turn of the century. She attended University of Buffalo and later transferred to University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL where she received her bachelor’s degree in business administration. She met Al Deuel in an accounting class and they later married. They were together for 64 years.
After graduating from university, Gloria and Al moved back to Western New York and eventually settled
in East Aurora, NY where they raised their three children. Al’s career as an insurance broker took them to the Philadelphia area in 1970 and they resided in Devon, PA for eight years. During that time Gloria completed her Master of Education degree at Villanova University and became a guidance counselor for the Radnor Township School District. In 1978 Al’s job took them to Miami, FL and they settled in Coral Gables where Gloria became a successful realtor. Eventually they retired to Marsh Creek on Anastasia Island in the St. Augustine, Florida area. Upon Al’s death in 2012, Gloria moved to Vienna, VA to be closer to her family. She passed away peacefully on July 16, 2023.
Gloria was involved in many activities during her long life including a love of family, travel, golf, skiing, boating, gardening, and being outdoors in the fresh air.
She is survived by her daughter Marybeth Davis and her husband Mark Davis of Vienna, VA. Her son Jeff
Deuel and his wife Stacy of Mercer Island, WA and her daughter-in-law Kane Deuel of Petersburg, IL.
Her son Alfred Henry Deuel predeceased her in 2010.

You were a great Mom and an inspiration for all of us on how to live a full, accomplished life focused on family and friends.
Love, Mary
Played golf, laughed and joked for many years in St. Augustine with Gloria. She was always smiling and upbeat. Loved hearing about her travels – especially the Cinque Terre in Italy. My husband and I were going there and Gloria and Al had already been and told me of the scary paths (how true).
Gloria was always the height of fashion. I’m sure her family is very proud of her.
Will miss you, Gloria…………………Love, Eileen Scheid
Gloria was a beautiful, sweet and classy lady. I feel honored to have known her and called her my friend. We were neighbors in Marsh Creek and golfing buddies at one time. It was always so nice to see her when she visited with Audrey after she moved to Virginia. My condolences to her family. May this beautiful lady Rest In Peace.
