Helen A. Jackson

August 26, 1933 ~ May 2, 2013
Helen Ann Allred Jackson, 79, passed away on May 2, 2013 following a long illness. Born and raised in High Point, North Carolina, she graduated from Agnes Scott College where she majored in Art and English. She worked for the High Point Enterprise newspaper covering local social events. She married her high school sweetheart, Kent, in 1956. She enjoyed oil painting, watercolors, pencil and ink drawing and was accomplished at needle crafts and sewing. An avid reader she enjoyed literature and poetry. She studied ball room dancing and participated in local amateur competitions. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, David Kent, and is survived by her son, Eric (Donna); grandchildren, Emily and Alex; sister-in-law Jobie (Sam); niece, Jennifer; nephew, Chris; brother-in-law, Bob and niece Cate.
Graveside services at the Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium, August 1, 2013 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
