Helen D. Brooks of Vienna, VA passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Sunrise at Hunter Mill. Beloved wife of the late Henry C. Brooks; mother of Douglas D. Brooks and Helen B. Lun (Michael); grandmother of Brooke L. Simon (Adam) and Eric L. Reynolds; and great-grandmother of Olivia.

Helen Brooks was a longtime friend of our family. She was witty and charming, sometimes sparked with hilarious sarcasm. She prided herself on being organized: Having her ducks in a row. Her husband Hank and her children Doug and Helen Ann were foremost in her life. When grandchildren Brooke and Eric arrived they were included in the circle. In the late 50’s we were members of a babysitting club and were able to meet each others’ children up close and personal. Helen treated our large family as special. Even after we outgrew the club we remained friends. When Ralph was transferred to Tucson we appreciated all her cards and notes. And when we returned 4 years later she was there to greet us. Over the years she was the go-to person for doctors, dentists, etc. Helen was a special person in our lives and we treasure our memories with her. She made a difference.
