My mother Peggy resides at Avalon House where Herbert livied in the last days of his life. I often saw and spoke with Herbert when I visited. While I only recently met Herbert, I felt as if I had known him for years. He seemed to be a warm and loving person. I wish my mother and I could have known him and his family prior to their terminal illnesses. I miss seeing Herbert when I visit my mother Peggy. The staff seems to also miss his presence. I was sorry to hear about Herb. We have missed him on the golf course for the past few years.
Sincere condolences to Beverly and the entire Nickens family, from myself and from the NMD Retirees club. We will miss you. Sorry that I will not be able to attend services in person, but my thoughts and prayers will be with you. Jack Wittmann
