Hind Ramez Saab

hind saab
Our beloved mother, Hind Saab, 88, passed away suddenly on April 28, 2019. She is survived by her children, Heifa Saab O’Neill, Lamia Saab Amundsen (Kjell), Omar Saab (Tove Wiklund) and Leila Saab Yow (Norman) and her grandchildren Noor Dean, Jenna Yow and Ryan Yow. She is also survived by her brother Amin Najjar, and her sisters Leila Sharaf and Salma Dabbagh and their families.

Hind grew up in Beirut, Lebanon, where she attended Beirut College for Women (LAU) and received an Associate Degree in English Literature. She came to the United States with her husband Ramez and their children in 1976 during the Lebanese civil war and settled in McLean, Virginia.

Hind was a very genuine, gracious and warm person. She had a big heart, a winning smile and a passion for life. With unlimited energy, she enthusiastically embraced many activities and hobbies. She enjoyed cooking, porcelain painting and traveling the world, but nothing brought her as much joy as entertaining her family and friends with her splendid hospitality. Her unlimited kindness and generous disposition will leave a lasting impression on all those who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held in June. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hind’s name to: So Others Might Eat, at 71O Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001, or online at www.some.org.
