Ida C. Williams

Ida C. Williams, age 97, of Fairfax, Va., passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital. Mrs. Williams was the beloved wife of the late George Williams. She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Ocassa Thompson of Chantilly, Va., and Ms. Vanessa Williams of North Babylon, NY., a son-in-law, Mr. Michael Thompson, two grandchildren, three nephews as well as many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by seven sisters and two brothers.
Born and raised in Halifax County, North Carolina, while a student at Howard University, she provided clerical assistance at the White House to Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt. Her caring nature led her to volunteer at hospitals in Washington, DC during WW II
to bring comfort to wounded soldiers. Mrs. Williams worked for many years with the NY City Health Department prior to her retirement.
