Jack Pearce Zimmerman

Jack P. Zimmerman, age 88, of McLean, VA departed suddenly from our lives on Monday, April 15, 2013. Jack was born and grew up in Topeka, Kansas, leaving the mid-west in 1944 to attend the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, from which he graduated in 1948. Jack taught at the Naval Academy and as a Naval Pilot flew missions to Europe. He earned law degrees from Georgetown and George Washington Law Schools and woked as a lawyer for several US Government departments, retiring from the Department of of Transportation. Jack was a lifelong Mason, a member of the Sharon Lodge #327 of McLean, VA since 1969, where he had also served as Worshipful Master. A member of the American Silver Guild, Jack had keen interest in American history. He and his wife, Charlotte, also shared many wonderful years breeding and showing Kerry Blue Terriers. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Charlotte Basset-Zimmerman; his step daughter, Darien Basset-Geraghty; two step-sons Roger W. Basset and Brian W. Basset; six step-grandchildre.
