James M. Maxwell

James Morrison Maxwell, 87, long-time resident of Vestal, New York, died peacefully on Monday, May 17, 2021, in Reston, Virginia. He was the husband of Lois Anne Maxwell who survives him.
Born in Emporia, Kansas, he was the son of the late Ruth and James Maxwell. He was predeceased by his sister, Jacqueline Sloan.
After serving three years in the U.S. Navy, James returned to college and graduated from the Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia with a BS degree in Business. He worked in marketing and research at IBM and lived in Vestal for most of his career.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include one daughter, Sherilyn (Charles) Appleby; one son, James S. Maxwell; seven grandchildren, Ethan, Sean, and Logan (Sara) Appleby; and Cameron, Connor, Christian, and Chelsea Maxwell.
A private family service was held on June 5, 2021, at Money & King Funeral Home in Vienna, Virginia, followed by a Celebration of Life. Friends may view and sign the family guestbook at www.moneyandking.com
