On October 9, 2016, Jane Heile passed away at home, surrounded by members of her family.

Jane was born with her twin sister, Ann, in April 1924 to John and Harriet Eyer of Fort Thomas, KY. She attended the University of Kentucky for 2 years, joining the Chi Omega sorority. She worked in the accounting department of a major utility company in the Cincinnati, Ohio area for two years before marrying her high school sweetheart, ENS Donald Heile, USN in November, 1946. The next 31 years were spent as a Navy wife and mother raising two children and indulging her passions for cooking and making quilts. Following Donald's retirement in 1977, they settled in McLean, VA before moving to the Vinson Hall Retirement Community in 2005.

Jane is survived by her husband, Donald, her daughter, Barbara (Stephen), her son David (Sherri) and grandchildren Arlen, Keenan, Devin, Laurel and Hannah, brother-in-law Dick Heile, multiple nieces and nephews and former son-in law, Rob Sherwood.

A funeral service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 6715 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA on Friday, October 14 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Navy Marine Coast Guard Residence Foundation, 6251 Old Dominion Dr., McLean, VA 22101.
