Jean Dunn Bufton
March 26, 1966 ~ December 15, 2017
Jean Dunn Bufton (Jeanie) passed away December 15, 2017 after nearly a three-year battle with ovarian cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, Brian; a son, Brian, Jr; daughter Isabel; parents James and Jean Dunn; brothers James (Dana), Vince (Amy), and Matthew (Megan) as well as many loving relatives and friends.
A native of Centreville, VA, she graduated from Flint Hill Prep in Oakton, VA and received a Psychology degree from Randolph-Macon College in 1989. Jeanie was passionate about many things including her family, her friendships, politics, and working with children. For over 25 years, Brian, a Colonel in the Marine Corps, and Jeanie along with their two children lived multiple places as a military family. Jeanie cherished all of the friendships she made along the way. Although she held several jobs over the years, the one she was most proud of was raising her two children. Her legacy lives on in her family and the foundation she built for them.
The family plans to receive friends at the church one hour prior to the mass. A mass to celebrate her life will take place at 11:00 AM on December 21, 2017 at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Vienna, VA. Interment will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, in memory of Jean Bufton, to support ovarian cancer research, and may be sent to Dana-Farber Institute at PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284; made online at www.dana-farber .org/gift; or via phone at 800-525-4669.
