Our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family. She will be missed.
Jeannie was a 1st cousin of mine but I am 8 years older. Her Mom was my Dad’s sister and she and Howard were my favorite aunt and uncle. Still miss them and will miss Jeannie although we seldom saw one another in the last years. God bless the family.

Having just seen Jeannie at Steve’s Celebration of Life it is difficult to realize that they are now together singing God’s praises in Heaven. My prayers are with those left behind to mourn her passing.
Mrs. Webb, Thank you for mentoring me and encouraging me. Thank you for giving me space to grow as both a writer and a person — for giving me space to develop more of a sense of humor, even. Thank you for continuing to be there well past my high school time, keeping in touch and staying engaged in your former students’ lives. I’m glad I’ve known you, Mrs. Webb.
Though I didn’t know you long, you were a calm, peaceful, humorous presence. My sincere condolences to your family.
I have many fine memories of Jeanne. She was quite lovely, had a beautiful singing voice, and was an important person in many of her students’ lives. Although we saw each other seldom in the recent past, I will remember fondly the times we spent together in earlier years. My condolences to all of her immediate family. In His love, Kathy (1st cousin)
You were always my favorite niece, Jeannie, and a wonderful wife, mother and teacher. Give your mom and dad a big hug from us and may you all rest in peace.
I didn’t know Jeanne very long, but during the time I did spend with her, she was a delightful and loving woman. blessings to her family…I’m grateful that I knew her even for such a brief time!
Jeanne, You were a lovely person and a trusted friend. We will miss you a lot. Our sincere condolences to your family.
To All the Webb Family, We are so sorry to hear about Jeanne’s passing. My Mom, Tish Sullivan, was a next door neighbor of the Obenchain’s and then the Webb’s for many years. When Mom passed away, Jeanne came to the wake with a dozen roses as she had just heard. She was always so thoughtful and kind. You all are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad and difficult time. Take care now, Terri Sullivan Bowman
Steven and Webb Family, Robert, Robbie, Elizabeth and I were so saddened to hear about your Mother, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Please know that we hold you special in our hearts. Mothers have a special place in their hearts for their sons… Judy Neumeister
Remembering many lazy Summers as a child visiting the Obenchain & DeCroes families in Indianapolis. Jeanne and I so loved to spend time at Aunt Lottie’s. Sweet memories.
Mrs Webb…so many memories. She was a fixture in my high school career. Many memories of late nights at the print shop, early mornings in the classroom and even weekends at the house. She will always be a part of my story. Much love to the Webb family.
My son and daughter were students of Mrs. Webb. Her influence and encouragement are still part of my children today. I appreciate the time she spent with them. Teachers like Mrs. Webb are rare and she will be missed by my family and the community.
My thoughts and prayers are with you today. I was a journalism/Hawk Talk student of Mrs. Webb through my four years of high school at Madison in the late 90’s. Mrs. Webb (Mom or Jeanne as the rest of the world called her) was a dedicated sponsor of the paper and I always enjoyed her. She will be missed and will always be thought of fondly in my memories.
I am so grateful for Mrs. Webb’s friendship over the last 20 years. Her lessons, words of advice, and love will never be forgotten. Mrs. Webb cared so much about her students, inside and outside of the classroom. I always will cherish the memories of the fun we shared working on The Hawk Talk together for four years at Madison. And my high school graduation was just the first of many milestones in my life that she commemorated with meour friendship continued to grow as I grew up. She visited me in college and attended my law school graduation ceremony. She celebrated with me at my engagement party and my wedding, hosted a baby shower for me, and witnessed my daughter’s baptism. I will pray that one day my daughter Victoria will have a teacher as wonderful as Mrs. Webb, but I know in my heart that Mrs. Webb was truly one of a kind.
I also have fond memories of Mrs. Webb. I too was a member of her Journalism class and spent many nights with her working on the Hawk Talk. I, myself, am now a teacher and often take time to reflect on the dedication and love Mrs. Webb showed to us all. I can only strive to have the impact on my students that she had on us.
As a student in Mrs. Webb’s journalism class for four years at JMHS, I’m sure I put her through hell more than once. She wasn’t one of my favorite high school teachers because she was a sweet lady who would let you leave class whenever you wanted and would let you write about whatever you liked; she was one of the teachers I’ll always remember because she gave us the room creatively to try to find out what we were good at. It was pretty rare to see that in high school, but that’s who she was. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family for this passing of such a sweet woman.
Dear Family of Jeanne Webb, I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Jeanne at Madison High School from 1986-2002.I was a guidance counselor.I can still visualize her coming down the hall filling it with such a bright, positive spirit. She taught her English classes and her Journalism classes with high expectations for their achievement–with such a kind, tolerant, knowing spirit. I remember conferences with her and families–I never worried about her preparation and realistic student support–the unsuccessful, the plagiarists, the lost students and the mean students. It was an additional opportunity for her to “teach”. She loved teaching, and she worked hard. I feel blessed to have been part of her work family. I think now that the world is a little less kind and tolerant with her death. Please let me know if there is anything that I could do for all of you by way of a memorial for this wonderful lady. I know she will be missed. Patty Bates
I had the great privilege and honor to have taught with Jeanne for many years at Madison. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. A good person and friend,Jeanne will be missed greatly, but she will always be in our hearts and minds.

I too was a student of Mrs. Webb’s for four years (1992-1996) at JMHS, working with her to put out her labor of love – the Hawk Talk. She was always kind and incredibly patient, She will forever live in my memory as the inspiration for my career – I’m now a television producer in NY. My thoughts go out to her family.
Jeanne…you genuinely offered a kind voice and welcome presence when I arrived at Madison. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Jeanne was one of the kindest people I have ever known. She had a generosity of heart unlike anyone. I went with her and her journalism students to New York twice, and we had such wonderful times! I am sad for our loss. I will always remember Jeanne as a dear friend and colleague who positively influenced the quality of my years at Madison. I am very lucky to have known her. “Love is like a tree, it grows of its own accord, it puts down deep roots into our whole being.” ~ Victor Hugo
