Joann Hallahan, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 64 on Friday, September 15, 2023.
Joann was born to Geraldine Dello Buono on March 26, 1959, in Philadelphia, PA. After graduating from Cherry Hill East High School, she went on to study at Mount St. Mary’s University “The Mount” where she met her husband and love of her life, Bob Hallahan. Joann was a founding member of the Women’s Varsity Field Hockey Team at The Mount where she excelled in sports and formed lifelong friendships. She graduated with dual degrees in Economics and Business Administration with the class of 1981 and completed post graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania.
Joann and Bob were married in 1985 and spent 38 years together. They had two children and shared a passion for living in new places and travelling the world.
Joann pursued her passion for cooking by attending one of the most prestigious culinary schools in the country and earned a degree in Culinary Arts. She went on to work as a pastry chef and later started several businesses as a personal chef. She had an entrepreneurial spirit which she carried with her through all her ambitions in life.
Joann was known by all for her strong and enduring spirit. To be friends with Joann was to have a best friend. Her legacy is marked not only by her deep faith and devotion to her family, but also by the loving connections she forged throughout her life.
She was undeniably the life of every party and known by all for her love of entertaining, tennis, music, and The Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.
We celebrate the beautiful life she led and the profound impact she had on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on through the love she shared with her friends and family, the laughter she inspired, and the incredible legacy she leaves behind.
Joann is survived by her husband, Bob Hallahan, daughter, Kaitlin Hallahan (Kelly Casazza), son, Bobby Hallahan (Claire), and granddaughter, Josie Hallahan.

“Let us not look for you only in memory,
Where we would grow lonely without you.
You would want us to find you in presence,
Besides us when beauty brightens,
When kindness glows
And music echoes eternal tones.
When orchids brighten the earth,
Darkest winter has turned to spring;
May this dark grief flower with hope
In every heart that loves you.
-John O’Donohue
