Obituary for Joanne Samuels
Joanne Seidl Samuels, of Vienna, Virginia, passed away on August 29, 2022. She was born in Edina, Minnesota to Frank and Frances Seidl on June 23, 1935,
Joanne is survived by her four children Anne Hansen (Mark), Tom Samuels, Mary Fielder (David) and Katharine Samuels; grandchildren, Bailey (Johnny), Caroline, Charles and Samuel; siblings, Nancy and Frank; Aunt Carolyn; and nieces and nephews, Diane, Kevin, Keith, Heather and Rick, as well as many other dear relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Kenneth Bayard Samuels.
Joanne was born and raised in Edina, Minnesota where she forged lifelong friendships, particularly with dear friends Pat and Mary Jo. She devoted much of her adult life to raising her children and doting on her grandchildren. Joanne earned her undergraduate degree in English, loved literature, particularly historical fiction, and savored the daily New York Times over a cup of tea and a scone. She was also devoted to her dogs, Sandy, Sonny, Missy, Maddie, Genie and Robin.
Memorial service will be held at Money and King Funeral Home, Vienna, Virginia at 4 pm on Saturday, October 8th.
