Johanna Keister, 86, passed February 20, 2024, long time resident of Fairfax, Virginia and recently at The Virginian in Fairfax.

Born March 30, 1937, in Winchester, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John D. Keister and Lillian R. (Neff) Keister of Lovettsville, Virginia.

She grew up on Jay Dee Kay Farm in Lovettsville. As a teen she enjoyed dancing, roller skating and horseback riding. She was a 1955 graduate of Loudoun County High School, where she played on the basketball team. She was a veteran of the United States Air Force. She enjoyed boating and water skiing at the family cabin at Point Lookout, Maryland. In her retirement she was a member of the Pinecrest Women’s Golf Association, Gold Girls Senior Women’s Softball Association and Potomac Pedalers Touring Club.

She is survived by a brother, Shirley Allen Keister and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her siblings: John David Keister, Dorothy Lee Rickard, Robert Neff Keister, Wanda Biller, Mack Wayne Keister and Keith Thomas Keister. Carol Owen a dear friend.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Lovettsville Union Cemetery, 12930 Lutheran Church Road, Lovettsville, Virginia. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association https://www.alz.org/ or a local animal adoption agency in your area.
