John Douglas Jarrett

December 17, 1948 ~ March 3, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, John Douglas Jarrett, who left us on Monday, March 3, 2025 at the age of 76. John was a devoted man of faith, a pillar of strength, and a source of unwavering love and guidance to his family and community.
Born on December 17, 1948 to John Horace and Douglas Jarrett in Vienna, VA, John was the oldest of two children. John was a man who lived his life with purpose, grounded in his love for God. His deep devotion to his faith shaped every aspect of his life, from the way he cared for his family to his service within his church. John proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. The rest of his adult life was spent as a Land Surveyor as he learned and took over the family business from his dad. In addition to the love he had for God, his family, and country, John also enjoyed rock and roll music, classic cars, and photography.
As a husband, John was a partner in every sense of the word—loving, patient, and steadfast. He shared 36 years of marriage with his cherished wife, Della, and together they built a home filled with faith, love, and laughter. His love for her is everlasting.
As a father, John was both a protector and a guide. He raised his three daughters with gentleness, discipline, and unwavering faith. His teachings extended far beyond midnight math at the counter; he instilled values of integrity, hard work, and humility, which will continue to resonate in their lives.
John’s selfless service, kindness, and commitment to others made him a friend to all. His words of wisdom and counsel were treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, acceptance, and faith will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him.
John is survived by his loving wife, Della Jarrett; his children, Melissa Jarrett, Lauren Jarrett (Shawn Howard), and Stephanie Aldridge (Justin Aldridge); and his granddaughter, Harper Aldridge. He is also survived by his sister, Rebecca Poston (Ronald Poston).
A viewing will be held at Money and King Funeral Home in Vienna, Virginia on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 4-6pm. A funeral service will be held at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church at 1301 Trap Road, Vienna, Virginia 22182 on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11am. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that John is now in the arms of his Savior, where there is no more pain or sorrow, only peace and joy. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten, as his spirit lives on in the lives of all he touched.
Rest easy, John. You will be loved for eternity.

I have worked with John Jarrett for over 25 years and John was knowledgeable and great to work with and always with a good sense of humor. John will be missed.
I did not know John. The sentiments you sent touched me. I am 76 years old and live in Knoxville, TN. I follow Money and King daily. I used to live in Oakton for 35 years. May John rest in peace.
What a great man!
