  4. Jack was interesting. He read voraciously and had knowledge of a wide range of subjects. Jack was able engage in conversation enthusiastically and competently about history, international and domestic politics, economics, observations about his travels abroad, sports and other areas to numerous to recall. He had interesting insights. I will miss engaging with Jack on the range of topics that we enjoyed discussing. He was a good friend.

  5. I worked for Dr. Hughes for over eight years. Dr. Hughes, Cindy and I had some fun times at work. I learned a lot working for him and hated to see him retire. JJH was the best! I will miss him. With sincere condolences to Janet and his entire family.

  10. I’m very sorry that I could not make the funeral. But Jack would understand, he knew I Loved him very much, and would listen to what he said because he always had a good word for me. He was without a doubt the most intelligent person I knew. He could address any topic. Because of his advise in private, I attended college at 40 yrs old and it helped me a great deal in life. I shall talk to you later, because we are here on borrowed time. See you my friend and second dad. Bye
