John Joseph Hamilton, age 42, passed away on April 18, 2020. Born in Fairfax, VA on August 11, 1977, John spent most of his life in Clifton, VA before moving to Austin, TX in 2014.
John is survived by his children, Jenna and Dylan Hamilton, his ex-wife and friend, Denise Hinkley, his mom Barbara Hamilton, and siblings Debbie Fenton (Donnie), Ronnie Hamilton, Rick Powers (Erika), Lisa Sampson, and Michael Barnes (Stephanie). John is preceded in death by his dad, Roy Hamilton, sister Donna Stanley, her husband Richard, and grandparents Willard and Margaret Clark.
John grew up loving sports, and from a young age enjoyed playing baseball, football, basketball, and golf. John supported his local teams, the Washington Redskins, Washington Nationals, and Washington Capitals but his heart belonged in college basketball with the Duke Blue Devils.
John went on to spend his professional career in the automotive industry, following in his dad’s footsteps.
John married and had two children who also share his love of sports. John was happiest supporting them at school functions and athletic events in baseball, basketball, football, and golf. John was extremely proud of both Jenna and Dylan.
John will forever be in the hearts and memories of his immediate family, extended family, and dear friends.
