Joseph Browning Reid, age 89, of McLean, Virginia and originally of Flint Hill, Virginia died on December 29, 2013 at his home. Beloved husband of Maria Reid; father of Charles Joseph Reid (LaMarise), Avedis Thomas Reid (Sarah) and Robert Browning Reid (Donna); brother of Gladys Bowie and grandfather of Charde, Joseph and Avedis Reid. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Willis Chapel. 1804 Zachary Taylor Highway, Huntly, Virginia 22640.

Joe was the architect for our home and during the designing process, we came to know him as a talented, empathetic architect and friend. We have a constant reminder of Joe as we enjoy the home he designed for us.
It was an honor to know Joseph Reid. My prayers and thoughts go out to his lovely family. While visiting Greece, where he and his beautiful and witty wife kept an apartment, I was fortunate to have enjoyed from him the most enchanting tour of the Parthenon in Athens. The experience was entertaining as well as educational, for humble as he was, he was a most accomplished architect in DC. He was a brilliant man who knew to live in the moment and make anyone who he is was with feel very special. I thank him for that wonderful memory. He will be missed by me and many others.
